Research Applications Overview
Welcome to Australia's Antarctic research applications and information site, managed by the ANARE Science Planning & Coordination Section of the Australian Antarctic Division.
The online Research Application Form must be completed by all researchers wishing to undertake science projects in Antarctica, the Subantarctic or Australia, as part of Australia's Antarctic Program, or who also wish to apply for an Australian Antarctic Science (AAS) Grant.
Applications for the 2003-04 season open on 1 May 2002 and must be completed by 30 June 2002. New applications cannot be initiated after 24 June 2002.
All applicants should first discuss their research project with the relevant Program Leader and should refer to the guidelines and supporting information resources when planning and completing an application.
If your project is approved, this site is also used to create your Progress and Final reports.
The Guidelines for Applicants provides information on each question. The Science Strategic Plan assists the scoping of proposals to ensure they reflect the key science outcomes set for the Australian Antarctic Science Program. Animal Experimentation & Ionising Radiation Guidelines set out essential ethics and practice guidelines for relevant projects. Voyage details are found in the Transport Schedule. For an overview of all guidelines and supporting publications see the synopsis.
